I hated Andres Caicedo and his work since he was just a scruffy hippie who was known only that he had committed suicide to draw attention to his work that was bad for others, and we we should hate the ragged hippies who did not have the courage to live, or at least that was the speech he had taught me during my early college years. The truth I never took the trouble to find out the reasons why he had taken his own life and did not even know if his work was really bad, although some of his books lay in my home library, as witnesses that my sister had better Luckily I taught literature in high school.
the same way I hated hated Andres Caicedo Fito Paez, as he was another scruffy hippie who needed to be hated, even though I sympathized with what little he knew of his work. A Fito, as well as many others, I stopped hating it when I got to Europe. As no one here knows, I do not feel guilty if you listened and accepted publicly that I liked his songs. A hate Andres Caicedo stopped by a lecture by Alberto Fuguet.
Now Andrés Caicedo not hate, but neither exalted. Now I have no opinion on Caicedo, I have never read anything about him. I hope one day soon be able to take any of his books, with the assurance that nobody is going to bring a judge to read a book by a scruffy hippie, and once just read your story I can tell if I consider it a good or a bad writer.
